EXTENSION CARE GUIDE
Daily Care
-
Brush gently morning & night using an extension-safe brush (Wet brush/ wide tooth comb)
-
Always hold hair at the root when brushing to reduce tension on your natural hair and brush from the bottom up(section in between wefts to really make sure your brushing all the way through)
-
Keep hair detangled, especially before bed and before washing
-
Use an oil or serum daily from the chin down to get the extensions moisturized. They need moisture!!
-
Always use a heat protectant before using hot tools.
Washing
-
Wash 1–2x per week with sulfate-free, professional products (washing more often can reduce the lifespan)
-
If you need to shampoo your own hair more than this I recommend doing a top wash. Clip your extensions out of the way and just wash the top section of your real hair.
-
Avoid scrubbing directly on the wefts or bonds—gently massage your scalp with fingertips to avoid matting
-
Apply conditioner from the chin down and around the hairline of your face. Do not condition your scalp or the top of the wefts. This can lead to build up and slipping. Use a wet brush or wide tooth comb to brush the conditioner through and get rid of any tangles.
-
If you want to go the extra mile and get a filtered shower head that can really be beneficial to the longevity of your extensions
Drying
-
Gently towel-dry using a microfiber towel or soft cotton t-shirt and pat dr
-
Dry roots thoroughly—especially near beads or wefts—to prevent matting, swelling, mildew
-
Use a leave-in conditioner and then use a wet brush or wide tooth comb to remove any tangles
-
Always use a heat protectant & oil before styling
-
Brush hair out starting at the bottom then move up
-
Extensions can be styled like natural hair (curl, wave, straighten) with care
-
Never go to bed with wet hair
Sleeping
-
Again never go to bed with wet hair!! I can not stress this enough.
Sleeping -
Always sleep with your hair tied back in a low ponytail or loose braid (his keeps hair from tangling and also helps to hold curl.)
-
Use a silk or satin pillowcase to reduce friction and extend the life of your extensions
Swimming
-
You can swim with extensions but you must be mindful of them.
-
Before getting your hair wet in the ocean, lake or pool get your hair wet first with water first. Then spray with a leave-in conditioner and braid your hair.
-
After swimming apply more leave-in conditioner, brush, wash and dry your hair.
-
This is important!! Sunscreen that contains "Avobenzone" will turn your extension hair peachy or brassy. Especially blondes. (I recommend the Bare Republic brand and it can be found at Target, Ulta or Amazon.)

Maintenance Appointments
While not required, routine move-ups every 6–10 weeks are strongly recommended to:
Keep your natural hair & scalp healthy
Prevent matting, slipping, or damage
-
Book appointments in advance to secure your spot.
-
Luxury hair requires luxury care—proper maintenance prevents damage.
-
Move-up appointments do not include color or a wash (both can be added).
-
Many guests love adding a wash + deep conditioning mask while extensions rest.
-
Arrive with clean, dry, and straight hair
-
It may feel like a lot at first, but once you get the hang of it, it’s easy (and fun!).
Maintain a seamless, blended look
Products to Avoid
-
No sulfates, alcohol, or protein-heavy products near the roots
-
Avoid oils, dry shampoo, and heavy conditioners on or near beads/wefts—they can cause slipping
-
Clarifying shampoos can dry out extensions and strip color—use sparingly
-
Skip tight ponytails or buns that pull on the scalp
-
Let me know right away if anything feels off—slipping, itching, or discomfort
